Patrick Mahoney

Mr.  Mahoney serves as President of Merit AirFinance, overseeing its strategy and operations, and leading the creation of tailored aviation lending solutions for airlines and leasing companies globally. Mr. Mahoney has experience across approximately $14 billion of aviation transactions during his career, acting as both a lender and borrower. He was previously Head of Aviation Capital Markets at Castlelake. There, he led aviation capital markets efforts including investment financing strategies and raising debt capital, as well as providing lending solutions for other aircraft owners. Prior to that, he also held roles on Castlelake’s Asset-Backed Direct Lending and Aviation Underwriting teams. He also led the development of Itasca Re, a provider of aircraft non-payment insurance.

Prior to joining Castlelake, Mr. Mahoney was with Northern Pacific Group, a private equity fund focused on transactions in the business services and technology sectors. Mr. Mahoney began his career in the investment banking group at Craig-Hallum Capital Group where he focused on M&A transactions. He received his B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in finance.
